Heritage

Hellisøy is a tribute to the spirit and determination of our ancestors' journey from Norway to America three generations ago. Bjarne, who was born in Fedje, Norway, was a farmer and fisherman before setting off for the United States on October 6, 1923.

Fishermen are indelibly linked to lighthouses and so, too, is Hellisøy. Our logo depicts the second-oldest cast iron lighthouse in Norway, located off the southwest coast of Fedje. Bjarne relied on Hellisøy lighthouse throughout his younger years as a fisherman and we strive to carry on his legacy.

We take pride in our heritage and we look forward to sharing our spirit with the Hellisøy community!
